Registration Open for Online Environment Virginia Symposium

LEXINGTON, Va., March 2, 2021 – Registration is now open for Virginia Military Institute’s 31st annual Environment Virginia Symposium, to be held March 23-25, 2021.  This conference, sponsored by the Center for Leadership and Ethics, attracts environmental professionals representing private industry, state agencies, and nonprofits from across the state and region.

The event, the Commonwealth’s premier environmental conference, will be entirely online this year.

Keynote speakers include Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam ’81, Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Bettina Ring, Secretary of Natural Resources Matthew Strickler, and Ann C. Phillips, Special Assistant to the Governor for Coastal Adaptation and Protection.

The conference includes a virtual exhibit hall and 20 live sessions, including Department of Environmental Quality regulatory updates, along with sessions on the Chesapeake Bay, solar energy, environmental justice, climate change, land conservation, forestry, clean energy and transportation, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and environmental collaboration. In addition, there will be pre-recorded bonus content.

Regular conference registration is open now. Rates are $250 per person, with a special full-time student rate of $50. Rates will go up March 10.

Other co-hosts for this conference include the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Virginia Environmental Endowment, and the Virginia Department of Forestry.
