The VMI Difference.

VMI stands apart from other colleges and universities with its unique educational system. Our tried and true system shapes leaders focused on academic achievement, military precision, and athletic competition within the tight-knit brotherhood of the Corps of Cadets.

First-hand look at cadet life.

Students interested in starting their journey with VMI can now register to attend one of our spring open houses and spend two days on post hearing from the Corps of Cadets, faculty, and staff. Members of the admissions team are also available to connect with those considering applying to VMI.

We make your education dollars go further! VMI works to help applicants who might not otherwise be able to attend, and awards scholarships or other aid for academic and athletic ability. Prospective cadets may also receive ROTC scholarships and earn other non-VMI awards.

We believe that the measure of a college lies in the quality and performance of its graduates and their contributions to society. High-quality undergraduate academic programs in engineering, science, and the arts prepare cadets for a host of paths after graduation. Military training and the ROTC program carefully and deliberately form future leaders, and our civic engagement programs provide a route to give back to local, national, and global communities.
