Yesterday, the VMI Board of Visitors Executive Committee met and voted to provide the governor, General Assembly, and SCHEV quarterly reports detailing VMI's progress on diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

VMI recently responded to a series of 16 questions from the Washington Post for an upcoming story on “what it’s like to attend VMI as a woman.” Responses are shared in their entirety in the spirit of openness.

Ms. Susan LeMert has been named inspector general and Title IX coordinator at Virginia Military Institute. LeMert, who had served as interim inspector general and Title IX coordinator since February 2021, replaces Col. Jeffrey Boobar ’86, now the Institute’s interim chief of staff.

This year, custodian Tanya Rice has spearheaded an effort among multiple custodians and cadets to collect unused school supplies and donate them to Rockbridge County Public Schools.
