VMI Celebrates Founders Day, Honors Former Superintendent

Founders Day this year looked a little different courtesy of Tropical Storm Nicole. While the howitzers did not ring out, and the parade was canceled, the Institute did get to honor and celebrate Gen. J.H. Binford Peay III '62, superintendent emeritus, with a special ceremony and reception.

Brian Jackson ’24, a cadet majoring in English with a concentration in literary studies, philosophy, and rhetoric and writing hosts a talk show called “In the Life of a Personal Trainer” that broadcasts once a month on WDCA Fox 5 Plus, a television station in Washington, D.C.

Marshall Foundation to Host Author of WWII Book

The George C. Marshall Foundation will host a lecture by author Peter Shinkle on his new book, “Uniting America: How FDR and Henry Stimson Brought Democrats and Republicans Together to Win World War II”.

Gen. Robert B. Neller, a retired four-star general who served as the 37th commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, appeared as the H.B. Johnson, Class of 1926 Distinguished Lecture Series speaker in Cameron Hall where the entire Corps of Cadets, along with the conference participants were in attendance.-VMI Photo by H. VMI’s Center for Leadership and Ethics Holds Annual Conference

The 13th Annual VMI Leadership and Ethics Conference was held Mon., Oct. 31, and Tues., Nov. 1. The conference focused on both the personal aspects of developing and exercising moral courage and the organizational environment set by leaders to encourage respectful, honest, and candid conversation.

Jackson House Museum Offers New Tour

French Films to be Shown at VMI - Public Invited to Attend

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures and Dean’s Academic Speakers Fund present four French films as part of the 2022-23 Albertine Cinémathèque film series. Albertine Cinémathèque expands access to French cinema and supports film programming at American colleges and universities.
