The ribbon cutting and dedication of Virginia Military Institute’s Corps Physical Training Facility Phase III, the Aquatic Center took place Jan. 27. Maj. Gen. Cedric T. Wins ’85, superintendent celebrated the event with local dignitaries and special guests.

John Brodie, director of music at Virginia Military Institute, has been playing disc golf for five years, ever since his brother Chris got him involved. Although Brodie admits to being competitive in friendly games, he prefers not to compete in tournaments. He plays wherever and whenever he can.

With the coronavirus pandemic interrupting the standard three-year cycle of inductions, the 2022 Hall of Fame class consisted of 10: seven members plus a veteran honoree and two special citation honorees as voted on by the committee.

The Virginia Military Institute boxing club traveled to Atlanta, Georgia recently to compete in the second annual College Fight Night at Georgia Tech.

Members of the Cadet Investment Group (CIG) recently traveled to Wall Street in New York City, New York to meet with stock market analysts and traders, including VMI alumni who work in the industry.

Formed in 2014, the Building BRIDGES Club is spanning to new lengths as it further connects cadets, faculty, and staff with the local community through civic engagement. Recently, the service club has taken on additional objectives of sponsoring events and college debates.

The VMI Pipe Band, which serves as musical ambassadors throughout the United States, has recently added Scottish authenticity to its ranks in the form of its new director, Maj. Brian Donaldson.

CDQC is a 6-week course, known by many as one of the most challenging and selective qualifications in the United States military. On top of being physically and academically demanding, combat divers are required to work extremely well as members of a team and under high pressure situations.

The VMI Community Theatre presents an updated version of “Heroes, Hustlers, Schemers, & Scamps: Curious Characters from Rockbridge County History” on July 13, 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gillis Theater in Marshall Hall on post at Virginia Military Institute.
