About Our Location
Marshall Hall is the home of the VMI Center for Leadership and Ethics department, which promotes a variety of leadership and ethics initiatives at VMI. It is a Virginia Green event venue.
The facility is named in honor of General George C. Marshall, a graduate of VMI in 1901, an exemplar of leadership and ethics. The facility is used primarily for meetings, banquets, conferences and symposia, press conferences and a variety of Post events including the annual Ring Figure Ball.
Room Details:
The Leslie J. Gillis Theater is a 500-seat facility. The theater provides state of the art appointments in audiovisual and information technology and comfortable seating. Its design ensures multi-functional use as an arts theater for cadet and community performances as well as a high quality auditorium for large lectures.
The Hall of Valor is an up to 640 seat adaptive assembly hall. The Hall of Valor commemorates the service and sacrifice of VMI Alumni in time of war through the permanent display of medals of valor earned by VMI graduates.

The Hall of Valor is complemented with four well-appointed and technologically advanced breakout rooms of flexible design that can be requested/reserved as part of a HoV request or reserved individually based on HoV use.

The Board Room is a formal meeting room with table capacity to seat 16, with 14 chairs along the walls for overflow for a total capacity of 30. The room is equipped with a conference phone, and has a VGA and an HDMI connection for laptops.
The Gallery is a tribute to one of VMI’s most revered graduates, General George C. Marshall VMI 1901. The Gallery is available for reservation as a receiving area for functions occurring in the HoV and for small dining events (less than 30 persons).
The Courtyard is treated as an extension of the building and is also available for use / reservation as part of functions held in the HoV or the Marshall Center.
